Dear Fellow Corps of Drums enthusiast,
CORPS OF DRUMS SOCIETY NORTH OF ENGLAND MUSIC MEETING III
In September 2001 and 2004 we ran two very successful meetings at Catterick and Leeds, in both cases attracting over 60 players from all over the UK.
I am writing to advise you that we are planning to hold a third event and invite you to come along to play or spectate. The outline details are;
OBJECTIVES
The event will focus purely on drum and flute music under the direction of Peter Foss, formally Drum Major Scots Guards and Senior Drum Major Household Division.
We hope to make a recording on the day and, weather permitting to march and play outside.
DATE AND TIMINGS
Saturday 8th September 2007. 10.30 am - 4 pm.
LOCATION
Leeds University Officers’ Training Corps. Carlton Barracks, Carlton Gate, Leeds LS7 1HE.
MUSIC
Music will be available at least three months in advance of the event. Beginners and experienced players are equally welcome.
INSTRUMENTS
Side, tenor, bass drums and cymbals plus high pitch flutes Bb, F and picc.
DRESS
Military working dress or smart casual civilian clothes.
REFRESHMENTS
Refreshments will not be available so please bring your own.
SECURITY
As we are using a military establishment we will require a list of attendees plus vehicle details in advance.
